Melt with gratitude into blissful stillness to reset, renew, and recharge! Extra props are utilized during the session to help you dive even deeper into relaxation!
In honor of May being National Meditation Month, you will be led on your journey of Integrative Restoration (iRest) Yoga Nidra in your Restorative Savasana. iRest Yoga Nidra is an evidence-based meditation practice developed by Dr. Richard Miller. This commonsense approach to meditation will help you discover the state between sleep and wakefulness, for deep relaxation and healing. No previous experience with meditation is necessary.
Gina L. Buse holds sacred space for her clients’ navigation of the mind-body-breath connection in her specialized services. She integrates her yoga and meditation training with her psychology expertise to lead clients into deep conscious relaxation with her profound love for Restorative Yoga. Her passion lies in the heart of the meditative and passive, yet powerful, practice of pause and stillness in Restorative Yoga. Join biologist, naturalist, mushroom expert and owner of Freedom Fungi, James Phillips on his third visit to Nova Luna as a special guest to co-host an afternoon of mycology (the study of mushrooms)!
This time we have a treat in store for you! We are featuring the Shiitake mushroom- an ancient mushroom with well documented health and healing benefits.
Growing Shiitake on logs is a simple and natural method of growing mushrooms at home. Over 1,000 years ago, farmers in Japan and China began refining this technique to produce Shiitake mushrooms. Now, you can do it too! The benefit of log culture is that it doesn’t require expensive equipment or technical skills. The mushrooms do most of the work; providing us with food, medicine, and soil. You will take your log home with you.
Nationally Board Certified Integrative and Functional Nutrition Health Coach, Sarah DiMatteo, will host a cooking demo with one of the Shiitake recipes included in your mushroom guide and recipe booklet. Our healthy beverage will be cacao with an adaptogenic mushroom powder added to it. This day will be FULL of mushroom healing benefits!

Radiant Rest

Give yourself the gift of radiant rest.
This restorative workshop, led by bodyworker, healer, and artist, Julie Allen was inspired & created to foster full body relaxation, stress-relief & mental refreshment. Julie holds a receptive, conscious space, making this practice accessible to all levels, offering a deep sense of connection, relaxation & clarity.
Yoga Nidra, commonly known as the yoga of sleep, is a guided meditation into extended, resting consciousness. We will begin seated with a discussion on what to expect, terminology used, and an opportunity to ask questions before the Yoga Nidra practice begins. We will move into a supine/savasana posture and be in stillness for 30-45 minute, while Julie guides us through a flowing series of meditation-like practices aimed at relaxing the mind. At the conclusion of the Yoga Nidra practice, we will take a short break, then meet back on our mat in a seated position for writing and reflecting with journalling prompts.
While the studio has common props available to borrow, please bring a pillow, your favorite blanket and anything you else you may need to be truly, deeply comfortable. Clipboard, pencil and paper will be provided for integration/closing; you may also bring a journal.

Find balance and harmony as each restorative pose is designed to be aligned with the 7 major chakras. Nourish the powerful energy lines on your restorative journey through the chakras. Melt open in the power of the pause and stillness. Reset, renew, recharge, and refresh with stillness of the body as your attention draws to your anchor and guide of the breath. The deep and beautiful rhythm of the breath aids to calm the fluctuations of the mind to rest intentionally in the present moment. Simply be as you nestle into your cocoon of comfort and ease. Extra props are utilized during the session to support the body to aid in conscious relaxation. Poses may be sustained for up to 20 minutes to allow you to melt even deeper into relaxation! Nurture and nourish the entirety of yourself by BEING instead of doing. Explore navigating stillness for the deep relaxation of restorative yoga in a sacred, safe, and supportive environment for total relaxation.
